The 2kW EAPU has been in field operation for 16 years and has proven to be a reliable external 24V DC Auxiliary Power Unit.  It maintains power required by the M1 Abrams battle tank for silent watch and can be used in emergency situations; by supplementing a battery charge with its own output to start the main engine in the Abrams.  Built on the success of the 2kW unit, the next generation 3kW EAPU is now available.  This newest model, developed and manufactured exclusively by WPS provides increased power output, enhanced reliability, with significant reduction in noise and vibration levels.  

Walker Power Systems also supplies the TT40 gas turbine engine and service control unit (SCU) for  the US Army's M56 and XM58 Smoke Generator System program.  The complete system is mounted on a M1097 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV).  The M56 is a large area smoke generator system and is unique in that it provides both visual and infrared wavelength obstruction.
